MedOANet French National Workshop

The French Task Force for the MedOANet project met on November 22nd and 23rd at the Centre for Direct Scientific Communication (CCSD) in Lyon.

The aim of this two-day meeting was to bring together the main stakeholders and decision-makers involved in the Open Access movement from the French academic and scientific spheres to:

• Take stock of Open Access initiatives and policies in France and Europe
• Discuss current practices and design a national pathway in harmony with practices observed in the partner countries

Greek National Workshop

The National Documentation Centre of Greece (EKT) organizes the National Workshop on Open Access policies, which will take place on Thursday, December 6th, 2012 at the Auditorium “Leonidas Zervas” of the National Hellenic Research Foundation (NHRF) in Athens. The workshop is part of the project activities of MedOANet (Mediterranean Open Access Network, www.medoanet.eu), which is led by EKT. The project addresses the necessity for coordinated strategies and policies which promote Open Access to research and knowledge, with a focus on six Mediterranean countries: Greece, Turkey, Italy, France, Spain, Portugal.

Qualitative and Quantitative Methods in Libraries International Conference (QQML2013)

The 5th Qualitative and Quantitative Methods in Libraries International Conference (QQML2013) was scheduled during the previous 4th QQML2012 Conference. QQML2009, QQML2010, QQML2011 and QQML2012 were successful events both from the number and quality of the presentations and from the post conference publications in Journals and Books. QQML2013 will continue and expand the related topics. It was also decided that the 6th QQML 2014 International Conference will be organized in Istanbul, Turkey.
