Interview with Eloy Rodrigues on MedOANet Project and Open Access
Eloy Rodrigues, Portuguese partner coordinator of the MedOANet Project, held an interview by Porto Canal TV on 6th June, 2012.
The main focus of the interview was the MedOANet Project although Eloy expanded ongeneral Open Access issues. Eloy Rodrigues started with an introduction on MedOANet Project mentioning the consortium, the main goalsof the project, and describing the activities in progress as well as the future initiatives and events. He did a parallel between the MedOANet Project and current and future European policies.
Eloy described the current situation in Portugal regarding Open Access including the OA projects running at the University of Minho. He concluded the interview explaining and describing the advantages of open access for institutions, researchers, and citizens, stressing the importance and necessity for coordinated strategies and policies in Open Access to scientific information in Europe.
